Adjectives describe nouns, while adverbs describe verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. Most adverbs have the ending -ly.
Example of an adjective describing a noun:
Sara sang a beautiful song. (song = noun)
Example of an adverb describing a verb:
Sara sang beautifully. (sang = verb)
Example of an adverb describing an adjective:
